I open my hand toward Heaven and ask for the sparrow of hope to softly land in my hand.

If I were an angel

Nae's Nest —  January 9, 2014 — 3 Comments

If I were an angel

With my wings, I would sweep

All the moon’s dust

And stars I would reap

My wings would start to flutter

The dust would begin to fall

Atop of my loved ones

Gently covering all

If I could bring you smiles

Inside of a jar

Covered in moon dust

Filled with some stars

All my clouds would have rainbows

Silver linings galore

Time would be kind

And you, adored

Clear skies overhead

Not a cloud in sight

A jarful of blessings

And peaceful nights

*

My time on earth

Faded and past

Eternal time

Love will outlast

I am here in the stars

And in the moon’s dust

I cover you up

On this you can trust

I am in the bird’s song

And in a the sun’s beam

Look all around

I can be seen

My spirit will move

A breeze in the wind

It is the circle of life

….A soul never ends

Dust to Dust

Standing strong with the trees

My feet firmly planted

United with nature

With a soul that is haunted

My branches turn

Underground

No longer reaching up

Instead returning

Dust to dust

Finding my place

In a new world

Will there be sunshine?

Will there be trees?

There is no more sorrow

No pain or disease

It is the final home

I  wonder how it must be

The final resting place

With Christ eternally

Secret Paradise

Secret Paradise

I have a secret I would like to share

If you will listen, Just pull up a chair:

There is a Secret Paradise

A place so divine. A land like no other

There is no measure of time

I met someone named Christ

He is The Light

He filled my room with warmth

And glorious sunlight

He said it was too soon

For me to go away

But wanted me to know

I would live there someday

Cancer is not welcome

You never hear his name

This place is magnificent

Has no sorrow or pain

Cancer was cast out

Many years ago

Along with his brothers

For causing sorrow

Pain was cast down too

Along with all his friends

No place for them in Paradise

Nor any kind of sin

I will continue to fight

I do not surrender

Though I am happy to know

My Spirit will live forever

This is a Secret Paradise

Which I like to share

For one day I wish

We will all be there

To reach the final home

Must be remarkable indeed

Beauty beyond anything

The eye has yet to see

To compare to the sunset

Stretching across the sea

Or the view from the mountaintop

With its meadows, foothills and valleys

*

My soul may feel haunted

My branches  may turn in weakness

I am only human, but soon I will

Feel completeness

Candles in The Snow

Nae's Nest —  September 30, 2013 — 1 Comment

Candles in the snow

The flame bends

Melting beauty

Change is a part of life

Bound where the river ends

Seasons may come and go

Time changes gradually

Love grows like a tree

Deeply rooted and unyielding

Strong at the base, yet bends and gives

Like a bridge or like a building

Transitions thru the vale

Revolving life

Atoms split

A soul is leaving the self

As the spirit rises

Ships set sail

Death is left behind

Changing form

A dancing glow

Burning out slowly

Seasons come and go

Time changes gradually

Candles burn in the snow

Angel of The Son

Angel of the Son

Michael’s music plays

Preparing for a welcome

Expected any day

I see Gabriel near the moon

Ready to take sail

The trumpet will sound

Upon the rising gale

A hand will reach out for mine

My feet will leave the land

On the Gospel ship

I will one day stand

The sea will be calmed

With a wave of a hand

I will set sail for the Holy land

Butterfly Train

Nae's Nest —  August 25, 2013 — Leave a comment

Summer is long gone. The birds have taken flight. It is time for the butterfly train, to follow the sun on to paradise

This is my last time around. My last stanza, withered and brown. My fall has come and  I’m traveling with the leaves

Their color lost and dried, their beauty now history

Soon Winter’s blanket will cover the dead. A snow-white cover, a beauty cold as death

I will see the light of God, within me He shines.

His light a warm glow, I can see it, just up ahead

This moment leaving me breathless, I can see Him with His arms open

Bringing me in, calling me home

Before Him I will bow down, I will see the scars upon His  feet

I will kiss each one, knowing there are many more.

For every scar upon His body were due to you and me

So that we might be saved,  He gave willingly,

So I might be here, at this time and on this day

Who am I to mourn my death? Who am I to cry?

My shame overcomes me, as I looked into HIs eyes

I kicked and screamed, trying to hold onto life

But He awaits, to welcome me in

I still do not know why I had to die

But who am I to question, the God of all man?

If He chooses not to heal me, He must have a plan

As I make Heaven my home, soon I will understand

I will ask Dear Father, to bless those who cry for me

Please send them each a butterfly and know I am happy and free

I will watch over each and everyone, I will always be by your side

Whenever they see the butterfly, May you always think of me
