A New Sun

I am giving up the shadows
I am choosing the light
Dark valleys I’ve walked
Many cold dreary nights
*
I’ve lived under the rocks
My eyes did not shine
Death was looking for me
I was running out of time
*
I began to climb
To dig myself out
Disease may follow
To him I will shout
*
I will not go willingly
I will fight all the way
The battle is not over
New light will shine today
*
Vermin thought he could take me
He believed it would be easy
Though I grow weak and weary
He still doesn’t have me
*
I may crawl on my knees
Unable to walk
I will climb the highest mountain
I will reach the mountain top
*
The shadows may catch me
But my eyes will shine again
Heaven’s rays fuel my soul
As the light is moves in
*
The sun always comes up
Granting us a new day
We must focus on tomorrow
Yesterdays tossed away
*
We create our tomorrow
It is a state of mind
Like a picture I shall paint it
Creating a new design
*
I can endure one more day
Pray it is my last
When time for a new sun
I will be healed at last

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.
