The Windmill

The windmill turns

High in the sky

Tracking the wind

From way up high

Marking its place

Its time in the past

Measuring the wind

Whirling round fast

Long since retired

Shows effects of age

Historic beauty

As if on stage

Proudly, she stands

Over the valley and hills

Nature’s hands

Waving to the mill

Creating gusts of wind

Some strong, some weak

A farmer’s whirligig

Drawing water from the creek

She towers over

As if guarding the land

A nostalgic beauty

A historical stand

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.
