Locked Away

My light has been hidden for so very long

Does it still know to shine?

Tucked away in the closet, in a drawer

Collecting mountains of dust

Not longer to soar

The Flame extinguished

No longer alive

Can I bring it back?

Will it be revived?

I was scolded

By my own peers

Rejected, despised

Instilling my fears

Isn’t a world full of color

Honor and creed

Lovely, respectable

Something we need?

Bringing out my light

I don’t care what you say

You’ve picked on the wrong one

My Flame is on display

Sticking you in the closet

We will see what you think

Collecting dust

Stuck in a drawer

Musty, full of stink

Unable to get out

Enjoy and explore

I’ve taken enough

All I am gonna take

It’s your turn now

Tucked in and shut away

The door is locked

Enjoy your stay

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.
