Shadow Man

Shadows and Light

Shadows and Light

Shadows slipping in

Almost unnoticed

Shadow Walkers

Flashing by

Are they real?

Or is it a trick of the eye?

Creepy and frightening

Barely to be seen

A flash in the pan

Brief appearance

Of Shadow Man

There he is

No there!

Did I see him

Figment of the imagination

Urban legend

Old time myth

Or death’s reflection?

Dark and fast

No there

Living in nightmares

Coming alive

When awake

When alone

Walking through my life

Walking in

Walking out

A mere glimpse

Raising doubt

A ghost of the past

An old soul

Long gone

Centuries old

Closed eyes

Or open

It really doesn’t matter

Shadow Man

Can appear

He is always

Very near

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.

You really captured the Shadow Man in this poem, Nae.
