Rainy Day

Nae's Nest —  October 20, 2012 — 3 Comments

Paint me a rainy day

When the clouds are low and gray

Rain falling on a tin roof

No staying inside

I promise you are rain proof

Do not feel blue or lonely

When the rain kisses the flowers

Makes for a wonderful day

One can play for hours

Smell the wet petals

Damp and heavy with raindrops

Go out and dance in the puddles

Play a game of hopscotch

One small drop of rain

With a mission from God

To sprinkle across the plains

Restoring life with the Earth’s blood

Streaming downward from the sky

Like a burned out star

With its fire distinguished

Blackened, wet and charred

The possibilities are endless

Time is standing still

While the Earth is replenished

At last!

And the mission of life

Is accomplished

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.

Made me want to find some wellies and puddles (funny, there were lots yesterday- they’ve all gone today!) and get out there and splash, Nae.
