Star Lily, Lady of Color

Star Lily way up high

Watching, protecting

As the world goes by

Enjoying the changes

The scenery brings

All of the colors

Happy to encircle

Eager to sing

Not many on earth know

The colors talk

Most are friendly

Few rarely squawk

They tend to adopt the personality

Of the body they clothe

If the body is an old grump

Like a weed, that personality grows

So the suit of a cantankerous old man

Quickly learns to look and sound just like him

Twin personalities

A cantankerous old man and a moth-eaten wrinkled brown suit.

However, all is not bad.  Often, the old wrinkled suit sings a beautiful bass

So when many of the colors are glowing

And Star Lily is nearby

Colors gather together

Creating a glorious rainbowS

Once the colorwheel choir is assembled in the sky

Immediatly they catch their reflections in their Spring mirrors.

Many of their friends like to swim in them and will be watching the show

Position between Star Lily in the sky and Star Lily of the land

They sing beautiful songs of love

The clever colors hope for a union of the two

Alas! I do not know wither this will happen

But it tis such a romantic notion.

The thirst for light

The thirst for color

Springmirror reflections beautiful memories to be cherished for years

Why be cantankerous and live your days in a black and white world?

Walking around with your eyes closed and your mind full of meanness

Your reflection the same day after day

Color all blending into one drab mural of them all

My dream is for the birds to swoop down and pick me up

And to place me with the choir

I would love to sing to Star Lily

With all of our colorful friends

The fragile wings of the butterfly

I see the ladybug counting her dots

I see naked birds in flight with no feathers

They flew over to me and draped me in feathers

And flew me up into the clouds to join their choir

Just as I wished!!!  Oh Thank you Star Lily.  Thank you so much.

Believing the jokers who told them to put on the invisible “magic”coat they had

Assuring them the birds were dressed in the finest feathers.

If only it were true for this was our cantankerous man

Butt ugly naked and roaming the streets !

The cops won’t arrest him, finding the old grump much too amusing!

There is always one drab color in the box

There is always one sour note in the choir

Shhhhh now, it’s time for the show

Try not to stare at the naked old man

Sitting in the third row

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.
