Will You Catch My Song?

Nae's Nest —  August 16, 2012 — 2 Comments

Will you catch my song when I am gone?

Will you hold me close in your dreams?

Will you keep me safe from the dark?

Will you pray I have peace?

Forever to live inside of you

Knowing I’ve made a difference

Knowing I held your hand when you were small

Knowing you now hold mine, now that you are tall

My sweet ones, you will be the hardest to let go

Whenever my time on this earth is o’er

Know of the happiness you placed in my life

Your love I will carry forever more

I was greatly blessed beyond words

When I birthed each of you

So different, yet so alike

You tossed lots of color into my life

Never dull or lonely

Until the day you left the nest

My heart grieved forever and a day

I have to keep my light and spirit busy

Lest my swollen tears will burst away

I can not leave you too many words

Of love, of pride and of joy

For it is impossible as I possess

The heart of a mother for each boy

I’ve watched you grow into smart young men

I ask always for love and acceptance

Never to be forgotten when life is in disarray

As you both carry on living day-to-day

Although, I know that is not possible

I know you share the same undying love for me

Together, my sons, we are always together

Just as our Creator meant for it to be

I am always a call away

Always within arms reach

Close your eyes to hear my voice

When you are ever  in need of peace

For my sons, love you always, Mom

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.

Dear Nae, I always know when I read the truth, because I get goosebumps and, in this case, you made me cry. Your best so far. As a mother, I so completely relate, and don’t think anyone could have said it better.
