Glass Doorknob

The steps creaked as I approached

It was glass and shined in the light

It called my name and gave me a fright

I feel mystery

I feel affection

There is a sadness

A fear of rejection

The glass doorknob

Rainbow reflection

Crystal antique

Every hand

Left an impression

Dark or light?

Evil or kind?

Kaleidoscopic doorway

Vintage portal

Yellowed with time

Walls made of lace

Allowing a glimpse

Of time forgotten

From another space

A turn of the knob

Enter an old realm

Time machine

I am the

Of the helm

The eye of the house

In this doorknob

Calling my name

I have the reigns

Should I go?

Should I stay?

I can not decide

I am in dismay

My fate in my hands

A change of history

A tempting mystery

Changing destiny

There is a sadness

A fear of rejection

I will stay right here

I think I’ll pass

The door remains closed

Behind the knob of glass

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.

    Super great!

So sorry for typo above (Nae) 😉

You are a wonderful poet Rae– I now realize you are the author (Renee Robinson) which I was unaware of before, just admiring Ms. Robinson’s work and wondering who this talented writer was. Be Blessed xo
