Labor And Delivery

Hundreds of sea turtles.  Covering the beach.  As far as the eye can see.

Laying eggs while I watched.  Under the moonlight of the sea.  I do not think I will ever witness, Anything more beautiful than this.

I tossed my blanket on the beach nearby.  Close enough to watch with my eye.  Far enough so not to startle.

It took all night.  Turtles coming out of the water.

Digging out hollows (while in labor)

Laying eggs (Ouch! Swearing, screaming and delivering)

Covering eggs  (think…I will NEVER let him touch me again!)  Leaving eggs    WTF??   Going back to the sea.  To disappear as if never there

In the morning there was no trace of them.  I slept on the beach that night.

It felt magical

It was surreal, loving and harmonic

I will never forget

That night with the sea turtles, that night I was truly blessed.

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.
