Boxing Gloves

You weep beside me when I am down

When I feel I cannot possibly fight another round

You are there putting on those gloves, Lacing them up

Ready to beat on some thugs

You weep beside me when I know not what to do

Frustration sets in, I feel like I’m beat, I am convinced I am through

You are there drying my tears, Relieving my pain

Destroying my fear

No matter the outcome, I am on the right path

You take my hand, You lead the way

A handful of dirt I take with me

A reminder of the essence of being

We are all the same in our unique way

Wonderfully linked, A colorful array

Whether providing comfort

Or wearing boxing gloves

You are beside me

Giving me the greatest love

No matter the outcome

Though pray for the best

I can honestly say

My spirit is blessed
