The Day After, Chapters1 and 2

The day after the Earth ended, was sad and surreal

The day after the earth ended

All the animals knew was gone

They had no place to go

No where to graze

All they knew was in the past

The “good ole days”

Can a dove cry?

I believe these few did

They are scared

Thankful they hid

All 8 were selected to leave their eggs to leave their chicks

Before the journey begins, the doves, and 8 each of every bird species all around the world are to gather seeds, saplings, nuts, roots…..something from every species of plant.

Directed by God

The birds did as told

The work was hard

Even in the cold

And so it went on

Day after day

Until finally, it was complete

And they could be on their way

Chapter 2

 God’s voice shook the earth

He was calling  every beast

Wild or domestic

The gathered in peace

God said you’ve done well

You cleaned a big mess

This land is yours

You are blessed

Your minds a smarter

You are made to live in peace

Eating only grains and vegetables

And fruits piece after piece

When your bellies grow full

You may sleep

Finding nice place

Sleep nice and deep

Now it is time

For you to go out

I will take care of your needs

Go on and scout

All over the globe

 In all directions

Living and enjoying

It’s a celebration

Most worked hard

God was pleased

He supplied them all

Their every need

When they were tired

They slept where they liked

Out in the trees

Where it is cool at night

Or  perhaps in a house

Which survived the fire

They would comfortable

And retire

The animals had voices

And could speak to each other

They were much brighter

And would help each other

Some were silly

They like to have some fun

They found some dye

And painter their bums

A giraffe was a bit confused

He went to hide

When they played hide and seek

His hiding was weak

Another giraffe

Found the restaurants

She worked there a month

Now looks more like an elephant

Giraffe + Elephant = Giraffant

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.
